Sorry to post such a generic question about NFUSE, but I have gotten SO many conflicting responses about it that I really need a straight answer.

If you have a NFUSE server setup, can users connect to the Metaframe server through a web browser without having to load ANY ica client on their desktop?

Bonus question - with NFUSE and a farm w/ load balancing, are users who connect to the NFUSE server still load balanced or does NFUSE not support load balancing.

Thanks loads!!!

Users will not be able to connect without ANY ica software. You can, however, make it easy and have NFuse detect if they have ica software installed and, if they don't, install it for them automatically. You can push out either a web client or the full blown Program Neighborhood ICA client.

You can handle load balancing 1 of 2 ways. For example, if you have 3 Citrix servers load balanced, and have 3 external addresses, you can load balance just fine.

If you only have 1 external address, you will need to use Secure Gateway, otherwise you will only get apps from the 1 server that has the alternate address that is set to the external address.

Hope this helps,

So if I were to connect to the NFUSE web page from a PC that had never connected before it would be seamless from the user's perspective?

I assume SecureGateway is not free like NFUSE?

Secure Gateway is free, like NFuse, but can be a pain to set up, and requires at least one more box than you already have. If you have quite a few servers, you can put some of the load on some existing servers. If you can afford extra static IPs from your ISP, you may just want to do that. Secure Gateway does give you some security though.

As far as what the user sees, the user will see the install running, but they won't have to do anything. You will have to configure this in the NFuse settings. What version of NFuse are you running?

After it installs, it will connect them. Any connection after that, they will just connect to the app right away.
