We are using Nfuse classic to connect to metafame XP (through a firewall) and have been for ~2 years (well it wasn't metaframe xp back then). Existing machines which have been using Nfuse for >18 months are fine. Our problem is for a new machine. When a user on that machine downloads the latest web cliet (from citrix or our FTP) and tries to connect, they get the application list and the launch file dowloads but then gets the network or dial communication error message.
Here is the interesting part...
We can fix this problem by bringing the machine onto the local subnet, installing the full client, and logging on and running any citrix application once. After that, the machine (even if the full client is then uninstalled and the web client is installed) can go outside the subnet and successfully execute applications through the Nfuse portal.
This fix doesn't work for users who are traveling oversees and using public computers as we can't bring those back to the local subnet.
Any ideas?
