I have MetaFrame XP FR2 installed on a Windows 2000 SP2
server w/ Terminal Services. XML service is running on port
8081. IIS is not installed.
NFuse Classic is installed on a Windows 2000 SP2 server.
These two servers are separated by a firewall. I have
opened ports 80, 8081, 1494, and 443 inbound and outbound.
(I have experimented w/ other combinations as well but this
is how it's currently set up.) I also have ICMP allowed so
I know that I can ping back and forth just fine.
I am very new to Citrix and am using both the official
Citrix guides as well as documentation on I
am being very careful to do the pre-install checklists and
to follow instructions. I have also read just about every
article in the knowledge base in trying to troubleshoot this
but to no avail.
Initially I tried to install the STA on my MetaFrame server
(w/ IIS using port 80 and the XML service at 8081), and the
CSG on the NFuse server. When installing CSG, it could not
find the ticket authority on the MetaFrame server. I set
all permissions in accordance w/ Citrix documentation and
double-checked it w/ dabcc.com's documentation. After much
frustration I decided to eliminate the CSG portion and make
sure that the NFuse/MetaFrame worked. I uninstalled STA
and IIS on the MetaFrame server, and uninstalled CSG from
the NFuse server. NFuse is not setup to use CSG anymore and
is set to check for the XML service on port 8081.
When I open the NFuse page and try to log in, I get an error
message that "the MetaFrame server farm cannot process your
request". It says to make sure the XML service is running.
(Which it is.)
ICA clients on the same side of the firewall as the
MetaFrame server can connect to published applications just
fine. When I set up the two pieces of CSG on both servers,
I followed the instructions on dabcc.com. It says that if
the STA is set up correctly you will get a blank screen when
accessing but the only way
I got a blank screen was on the local server.
I am thoroughly frustrated at this point and would like any
assistance on the matter. Sorry for the long post but I'm
not quite sure *where* exactly my problem lies.
Thanks,
Jennette
