Hi,

I am trying to nfsmount a cd from server a onto server b. I have edited the /etc/dfs/dfstab file with share -F nfs -o rw /cdrom/xyz. started the nfs.server as /etc/init.d/nfs.server start. Problem here the script just hangs (any suggestions why?)

So i reversed the process from server b to server a.Edited the dfstab file and here was able to start the nfs.server. After this I issued shareall. Now I tired to mount on server a, it gives me the following error:
nfs mount: server b: : RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Success
nfs mount : retrying: /mnt

Any help/ideas appreciated.

TIA
Ritesh

Edit the /etc/dfs/dfstab on the server which contains the cd to include the following.

share -F nfs -o rw -d "CD" /cdrom/cdrom0

Then share it out (shareall)

Go back to the other server and try creating a different mount point. eg /mnt

Type
mount 'server':cdrom/cdrom0 /mnt
