Hello All,
Got a bit of a funny one. We are nfs mounting the cd drive (cdrfs) from one system to another both running 5300-05-05 which is working. We can cd into the nfs mount on the target host but when we try to view or list the files the commands just hang (no error message etc). No such problem nfs mounting a jfs2 filesystem or mounting the same cd drive to another system running 5300-04-00.
Anyone experienced this ??
Raised a call with IBM but would like to sort out soon,
cheers
Benno

Can you access the files from the NFS server side?
Also check out error log on NFS server side for media errors on the cd drive.

....can access files fine on host, no errors generated. Mounted the drive on another system running 5300-04-00 and can access fine also, it only happens with the cdrfs filesystem and only when host and target systems are running 5300-05-05, weird !!

Which was?

......sorry for not getting back with the fix all :

nfso -o nfs_v3_server_readdirplus=0

....on the host with the cd.dvd drive

Here is the APAR details and work around :

APAR is IY94222

A CDROM exported from a 5.3 TL5 NFS server to a 5.3 TL5
NFS client can not be listed with the 'ls' command after
mounting. The 'ls' command hangs with no output. Review
of an IP trace of the communication between the server
and client reveals an infinite loop of READDIRPLUS requests
from the client, requesting the same data over and over.

hope that makes sense
