Hi there,

I want to mount a Linux folder with NFS. When I type mount -n 192.1.1.99 /folder /folder it works fine. But when I try to mount the folder permanently witch smitty, I've got the error message that I've got no rights to edit /etc/filesystems.....

Can anybody help me please. Where do I find the autostartup files in AIX? /etc/rc.d/... doesn't look like beeing used by the system...

Big Thx

permissions are:

-rw-rw-r-- root system

There was no offense meant by the last question, just need to start with the basics. Maybe is your "/" filesystem full? I just tried the same operation on a 5.1 ML07 system and had no problem. My /etc/filesystems has the same permissions as yours does.

Hi Jim,

no....... please ....... I don't want to be rude. My english isn't good.

Could it be possible, that this file isn't the file which is in use? I've got an other file called filesystems.orgi which involves a current nfs mount which I am looking for long. The HD isn't full.

big thx!

I have never seen anything but /etc/filesystems getting used. I am not really sure what to tell you. The error message very explicitly points to that file. You can try manually modifying the file. It sounds like you already have an example of what the stanza should look like for an NFS mount.
