HI

I have Redhat Linux 8 system. While mounting nfs filesystems
from other hosts it shows follow.error ---

mount: fs type nfs not supported by kernel

Kernel version

[root@prime]# uname -a
Linux prime 2.4.18-14 #1 Wed Sep 4 13:35:50 EDT 2002 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks
Andy

Support for the NFS filesystem is something that needs to be compiled into the kernel - your kernel is saying that is does not have such support. I'm not sure if the NFS support can be compiled as a module, but nonetheless, you need to configure a kernel with NFS filesystem support, recompile (or apt-get) and reboot the new kernel.
