Dear friends,

I'd like to have a question of a NFS problem I've this time!
So, I'll tell what I've done till now.

SERVER1 --> NFS MOUNT --> SERVER2

- SERVER2 has an entry for SERVER1 in .rhosts and also in /etc/host
- The directory I'll mount via NFS on SERVER1 is exported correctly
- The NFS Daemon is running on the system
- From other machines it's possible to do an NFS mount

SERVER2 --> NFS MOUNT --> SERVER1 that's ok!

- Also it's possible to get filesystems on other machines
for SERVER1

So it's just this one combination where it's not working:(

Who can help me, please?
Thanks for all!

Best Regards
Oliver

NFS prohibits this setup for security reasons. Because NFS doesn't have any kind of authoentication this setup would compromise security on server1.

Cheers

HI,

Please post the following:

1. showmount -e server1 (run from server1)
2. showmount -e server1 (run from a different machine)
3. cat /etc/hosts (on server1)
4. cat /etc/hosts (on server2)
5. lsnfsexp (on server1)

6.try rexporing all the server1 volumes.

Hi
Thanks for all solutions!

But in any way it's like this:

The server I want to get my NFS

/cds (everyone)
/NIM/Images (everyone)
/image5 (everyone)

/cds is ok from all machines
/image5 -> A file or directory in the path name does not exist I get this on all machines

At least I get this on my "problem machine" for all FS
-> 1831-011 access denied for saphir5p:/cds

Thanks at all!

Regards
Oliver

Thanks a lot to all!
It's managed!:))

Best Regards
Oliver

I've restarted the NFS Sybsystem at least,
and after it was working well.
I think the daemon itself wasn't ok.

Thanks!

Regards
Oliver
