.nfs files?

When working with files on the NFS we are getting .nfs????? files where ????? equals random letters/numbers. Has anyone else encountered this? We receintly upgraded our client machines to hp-ux 11.0 while the mail server is on 10.20 and im thinking it is something that is offered in 11.0 but I would like to know how to disable this feature/bug?

Any suggestions?
