I am evaluating XML/DTD and XML/RDF for publishing companies (magazines, newspapers, internet, ...). At this moment, I believe that the best choices are NewsML and PRISM. What do you think? Do you know others that I can evaluate? If you work in a publishing company, are you using any XML/DTD or XML/RDF?

Thanks

i've used NewsML quite a bit and have found it to be fairly complete as a way to send content around. having said that, i don't like working with it because of the poor documentation and serious flaws at the design level.
i find that everyone who uses it isn't really sure how to and it's common to see badly formed documents. if you are going to study it then i'd recommend that the most important things to fully understand are the TopicSet's and then confirm with a NewsML expoert that you really do know what they do :)
other than NewsML i've used NITF which is more concerned about the content and not the delivery mechanism - it's seen as the predecessor to NewsML altho is still in active development. Some people like to wrap nitf inside newsml and others have some real issues against it (altho i've never seen them backed up with proper arguments). i find it easier to look at than NewsML but i have not used it that much and would be wary of using it as a total solution.
i wouldn't use either as an internal data structure tho, but i always think that custom xml formats and heavy use of xsl is the best way to go as then you can be more flexible with your output.
