newly set up server, sends but does not receive emails

I have a maildrop box for a domain were using, and my service provider was rather unhelpful, as they took 2 minutes on the phone to say the problem is on my side and have a nice day (all they faxed me was a page with a user name and password). So I can’t receive emails from anywhere, but I can send anywhere, most my settings are still on default, any ideas as to where I might look first?
 
Your issue doesn't sound like an Exchange 2003 topic. Folks on this forum will need additional information in order to help you. It sounds like you are not authenticated properly/fully through their mail server.

1: Is it an ISP Pop3 account you are trying to access?

2: You state most of your settings are still on default? are you using Outlook or Outlook Express as your mail client?

3: Can you provide any additional information about what type of mail server your "maildrop box" is on?
