NEWFS_BAD_ATTACH_TO SERVER error

I am getting this error when I try to select the SQL server in the backup selections. Does anyone know what the problem is or ver experinced this before.

I am open to any sugestions and will try just about anything at this point.

I am sure the user name and passwrod are correct for the server.

Same here. The backup job appears to run correctly, but still shows as failed without a good error message. Any attempt to alter the job definitions results in the NEWFS_BAD_ATTACH_TO_SERVER error. It is also noteworthy, at least in my instance, that the SQL server selection in the job definition window appears twice. Any help would be appreciated.
