Newcomer would welcome tutorials

I am a greenhorn to Adobe Photoshop and want tutorials. Where is the best place to start?

Any online tutorial would suffice however I do not have permenent internet connection so thus prefer tutorials that I can download to my computer i.e. zip or other formats.

My friend has given me a book in Adobe Acrobat-Reader format called "Adobe Photoshop 6.0 Classroom in a book" however I do not have the files to accompany the book, the files are said to be grouped into Lessons/lesson** etc for example files like 01Start.psd so I can learn by practice. Please offer advice to tyro?

there are tons of tutorials on google. best search is:

photoshop tutorial topic

replace the word "topic" above with the area of PS you want to explore.
