I want to develop a web application using Java but i don't know where to start from. From where i should start learning and what all should i learn??

Yes I have programming experience. I have developed web application using php & MySQl and also on ASP.NET.

Can the web applications be devloped in Java without JSP??
I don't want to work on JSP as i have already worked on a server side technology.

You may study on EJB, J2EE and Web Service.
For Application Server in running EJB and J2EE, you may use glassfish or JBoss. JBoss 4.04 or before is free but it may be difficult to find those version.

If you want to write Java Application that connects to Application Server and Web Server, you may use Java Swing or Eclipse SWT.

You may find our technology related to Java like Struts, Spring and Hibernate
