Newbie VBA and Lotus Notes

Hi all,

OK, I'm pretty new with Lotus Notes, and I'm trying to automate creating a Reminder. However, I can't seem to find a simple and straightforward explanation of how to do this.
I'm using VBA in Excel 97, and Lotus Notes V. 5.0.10
Any ideas on a simple code that can do this?

Creating a reminder in Notes R5 - what has that got to do with Excel ?
What is the reminder for ? A meeting ? A date to remember ?
If so, just create the appropriate calendar document and Notes will remind you (if you have enabled the function).
If it is something else entirely, could you be more specific ?

I want to automate creating a reminder from Excel or in general from Ms Office 97. I'm trying to create a larger macro that encompasses several steps in a partciular process. That process includes creating e-mails and reminder notices in Lotus Notes. Right now I am concerned with the reminder notice.
