Here is the equipment. I have a a Linksys wireless router and two XP clients with USB wireless adapters. They currently have internet connection. I have been asked to share out the hard drives so that each computer can see each others. They both have the same workgroup entered but they can't see each other or ping each other. How would I go about sharing each others hard drive?

Thanks,

Shannan

Firstly check that you haven't enabled the XP firewall on the Wireless connnections..

By default that will stop ping and file and print sharing.

You say "They currently have internet connection" by this do you mean that they can access the internet via the wireless router or is that what you trying to achieve.

I will check the firewall option. They have internet connection through the router. What I am trying to achieve is file and print sharing between the two workstations.

Thanks,

Shannan

Hi,
This assumes you've got the two machines on the same network...

On the first machine. Select a folder from windows explorer, right click and select the sharing & security options, follow the on-screen instructions.

Add a user (via User-Accounts on the Control-Panel) that will be used by the other machine to connect.

Then, from the other machine and from windows explorer, look for the folder in "My Network Places". Use the userid to connect

... And everything should work!

Roger...
