Hi ,

I am new to HIS integration server.

we have a SQL Server, which has a Linked Server connection to DB2 database. we are using the IBM OLE DB PROVIDER for configuring the datasource.

On the SQL Server , we are getting the dllhost.exe issue where this particular process grows in size until it reaches 900MB and then it had to be killed as it brings the SQL Server into a hung state. and no more reports can be run by the users until its killed .

when we contacted Microsoft, it said that using the Microsoft OLE DB PROVIDER we can fix this issue.

now my question is, Do we need to install the Host Integration Server. or can we just install the Microsoft OLE DB PROVIDER DRIVERS ?

can any body through some light on things like..

>>Whats the license cost for this ?
>>Do we need any additional server for this or can it be configured on the SQL Server box.
>>Inorder to fix the issue with dllhost.exe process, do we need to install the HIS or juss the Microsoft OLE DB provider is enough to configure the datasource?

any help in answering these questions is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
niva.
