I know the basics of CR8, but I have been tasked with creating a link from a web page to a CR. I have finally managed to get CE8 working on a linux server and now I need to get the report done. I have created a report that takes a inventory number as a parameter. I need to display the inventory information on the web page/popup report/something. I am at a loss as to how to configure the web page to pass the parameter and display the report. I have published the report via CE publisher.

If you know of any good (free) online tutorials or information, please post it here. Also, any books that may provide a good reference. [morning]

If you have a prompt in CR8 and have published it in CE, you should be able to go into Crystal Managment Console/Manage Objects and set the parameter settings. There is a check box "Prompt the user for new values when viewing" that you can use that will force the user to enter a parameter value upon preview. I have not used Linux before, but this has worked for me in Windows.

I am trying to connect to MAS 200/90 reports and cannot get the database connection to open. Any ideas? When I preview the report, it prompts me for the inventory number and the database connection. No go so far. A little bit you, a little bit me. [hippie]
