Hi guys..

Fairly new to the Call Manager and I'd like to see if anyone could shed some light on this for me.. Right now, at exactly 4:30 p.m. our phone system greeting switches to "bla bla bla we are closed right now bla bla bla." I'd like to find where that schedule is configured at. Anyone wanna tell me? thank you!!

ah ha! I found it! It's in Cisco Unity!! Is there ANYONE here who knows alot about Unity? I got a little project that is going to be kind of tough for me considering I havn't used this stuff in a long long time..

thanks

What do you need to know?

Give us some information.

We're using Unity 4.0 build 4.0(2) & Call manager 3.3

I don't know if this is really a call manager deal, but it may be if I get into configuring a phone..

Problem: When our office closes early, due to weather or something, the girls up front have to record a greeting and then call the IT department to go into unity and change the default greeting for the example admin and then change it back when we come in in the morning.

Goal: Allow the girls up front to change the default greeting themselves via software or hardware(phone) and choose which greeting is active.. I'd like to do this without giving them administrative rights inside of our unity program..

Sound feasible?

Thanks to anyone for any input!

You could achieve this by making one of the girls the owner of the call handler that takes your calls, this way they could go record an alternative greeting and enable it through the /activeassistant web application. They would only be able to modify the call handler and nothing else inside of Unity.

Great info man!! Only problem.. I'm so new to this that I can't find the ActiveAssistant.. I'm sorry, but can you give me a little more info?!?! I understand what you saying about making them the Owner of the Call Handler, I got that down, I just need to find this activeassistant to seal the deal..

Do you think I should create a whole new call handler for this?? Or should I just make them the owner of our Open Greeting handler.. I'll probably just leave it on Open Greeting..
Thanks!!!

hey I found it!! but it's going to take me awhile to figure this out.. I'm not quite sure where activeassistant is authenticating to, but under iis it says it's using Intergrated Windows Authentication, so I'm kind of scared to change that stuff..

I take it, I need to give this chick (our receptionist) the appropriate rights under class of service to edit the unity system admistrator..

wow, any info would kick arse..

Dude, this is sweet!!! Only thing I can't figure out is how to let that receptionist chick edit that specific call handler..

Whenever i go to the /aa it auto logs me in without prompting for any credentials, but i am a domain admin.. How can I make it so when she does it, she logs and then goes that certain handler??

Actually hadn't thought about that, you would need to give her access to modify call handlers and then have her use the /saweb application... Don't know what I was thinking about earlier... the /activeassistant application only give you control over a mailbox, can't be used to modify a call handler.

In regards to the authenication, the Unity server uses the Windows account that you are logged on with to authentication your web session and work out who you are.

If I have her use the /saweb that will giver her access to the entire unity administration program won't it?!?! That's not good, I don't trust with a wireless mouse let alone a VoIP phone system.. that's scary!

I take that back.. I know I can restrict her access inside of Unity Admin, but I want her only to be able to access our opening greeting.. thats it!! We have about 12 greetings and I don't want her near the others!!

So.. anyone know how I can restrict someone to a single Call Handler in /saweb??? Like my Opening Greeting is managed by me (the admin) and by my receptionist.. that's it..
