I am new to using ODBC so I apologize for the simplistic nature of my questions. Basically I understand ODBC, but I am uncertain on a couple of usage issues.
1. Actually this question has two parts.
A program which I "inherited" uses an ODBC connection which has been named in a unique manner for this application's needs. The name is not one of the standard Windows names.
a. How do I create this ODBC connection and not eliminate existing ODBC connections which use Windows names? It would functionally duplicate another existing ODBC connection.
b. How do I give this new duplicate the necessary, application specific connection name.
2. When I originally installed my Windows 2000 Professional I installed a Foxpro Files ODBC connection (to older format 16 bit databases). Later, when I installed Windows Studio it over-wrote my Foxpro Files ODBC connection with a Visual Foxpro ODBC connection (to newer 32 bit format databases).
How do I get both the 16 bit AND the 32 bit connections installed?
Your help and advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
