Newbie questions: connectors

I am using Visio for the first time (Visio Standard 5.0) for a flow
chart due on Tuesday, and have some questions about connectors:

1. Is it possible to glue one connector to another connector? I can't
find the exact line stencil that I'm looking for, so I was hoping to put
one together myself. (essentially, I'm looking for a mirror image
[flipped on the vertical axis] of the side-to-same-side connector). If I
can't glue them, should I group the two connectors together to achieve
this effect?

2. I drew a universal connector that intersects with a vertical
connector. I want the universal connector to jump over the vertical
connector, but right now it's not jumping. The page setup is set so that
horizontal lines jump. The universal connector is not horizontal the
whole time (it has a few 90 degree bends in it), so I think this may be
why it's not jumping. How can I get it to jump?

Also, a non-connector question: I have some Word documents that I would
like to import as icons into Visio. The Word documents don't have to be
actual size. How can I do this?

Thanks for any help you can provide!
