I've just installed Linus (suse 7.0 pro) and samba, but can't add the machine to my NT domain. I've created the machine account on the PDC, and created an admin account that mirrors the root login for linux.
When I run smbpasswd to join the domain I get aa NT_STATUS_NO_TRUST_SAM_ACCOUNT error, telling me it's unable to join the domain.
I can find no reference to this in the documentation on samba.org (which is nice).
Can anyone offer any help?

Hey, I just had this problem myself. I run an NT Domain at the office and am trying to setup redhat for web services.

I think this will fix your problem for you:

Open SWAT or whichever samba configuration tool you're using, or go to the smb.conf file. the entry you're looking for is "security" under the GLOBAL header. set this to "security = DOMAIN" without quotes, and don't enter your NT domain name here -- just type the word DOMAIN.

Linux looks like a great solution. If I can only get it working properly... and integrated with my NT stuff...
