I have a Crystal Report that runs off a database on my local machine, which is linked to a database server. The DSNs on both my web server and my current computer match, and I have moved reports from my machine to the server without difficulty (inking to the database server). However, this report needs an MS Access database as a go-between betweent the report and the database server. My actual question is how/where do I move my database to the server? How do I modify my report to know the new location of the database file?

This depends on how you use Access.

If it's via ODBC, just change the ODBC driver to point to the database, wherever it is.

If you connect directly, you'll probably want to move the database to the exact same path as it was on the old machine, otherwise you'll have to use set location in all of the reports (OK, there's a utility to cheat this).

Hey Synapse,
A utility that sets location en masse? Which one is that? Willing to share?

Problem solved. I could only run CR from my local machine, and when I changed the database location to that of the server's database file, I kept using my drive letter, not my absolute path (whacks self in forehead). Thanks
