Hi,

I'm teaching myself InDesign by working through a couple of books and trying to backward engineer layouts from different magazines.

At the moment I'm trying to replicate a layout with a three column grid - one narrow column down the outer edge of the page and two wider columns inside the page. My idea is to create two master pages, one left and one right.

I can't find a way of specifying where the column rulers sit on the page. I know I can drag ruler guides manually, but isn't there some option somewhere in which I can enter precisely how wide I want each column to be?

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?

Oh, I'm using InDesign 2.0, not CS.

Thanks

Go to Layout Menu/Layout Adjustment.

Click on Enable and check Allow Ruler Guides to Move and Ignore Ruler Guide Alignment. Check any others as you want.
