I'm trying to figure out my 6009 switch. When I run the show boot command I get this:

BOOT variable = bootflash:cat6000-supcv_5-5-2.bin,1;
CONFIG_FILE variable = slot0:switch.cfg

Configuration register is 0x2
ignore-config: disabled
auto-config: non-recurring, overwrite, sync disabled
console baud: 9600
boot: image specified by the boot system commands

Notice switch.cfg in slot0. Now when I do a dir slot0: I get this:

error = -8
Open device slot0 failed (no device)

What gives? How can it be configured to look at a slot that isn't there? Also, we have redundant Sup IA engines. Shouldn't the sync be enabled.

Thanks for any help/answers.

Our 6509s give the same information. However, right now our status light is amber and the system status is indicating faulty. Cisco recommends powering down the switch and reinserting the supervisor cards. I have not done this yet as down time is few and far between.
