Newbie Q about C++ & databases

C++ isn't like other languages I've dealt with. How do you link C++ to an existing db? Can you create a db with C++? How? Please help - I've figured out what I need except this! Thanks!
 
In C++ - Builder you have classes in the IDE to connect to nearly any DB. You can use the Database - Class or tTable an connect it to an ODBC-Source or through an existing driver for the DB (Oracle, Access, MS-SQL,...)<br>
