I design a webpage by using one of those templates. Now, I want to publish the webdesign to my host and under file the publish web is not highlighted..

That's sound good but when I open web. I see the following folders, _borders,_derived, _fpclass, _overlay, _private, _themes, _images and it's looking for a file. I don't know which file to open. If I go to file open - myweb3, I see all the folders above and all of my *.htm files.

Did I use the template wrong?
When I open web which file should I select?

WEll - if you are working on editing the homepage for your website using that template, you'd want to open the index.htm or default.htm - one of those file names is a homepage. The other .htm pages are the pages that are linked from the homepage. typically with template these are feedback/contact page, services, products, etc.

You'll need to customize the files that came with your template to work for your needs and then publish the web to your hosting company web space.

Thanks for your help, Tiffany but I have one more stupid question. Where are my *.htm files when I go to file - open web? I only see the folders that I mentioned above and no files are listed in these folders. Should I moved the files to the image folder. This is what I'm not seeing. I only see my *.htm files when I go to file - open file

Ask all the questions you need to - no question is stupid, really!

What version of FP are you using and which template?

If you are using a web template, then you should have a folder list on the left of FP when you open the web where you would see your folders and under the folders a list of files, which would be the .htm files.

I would suggest you store images only in the images folder. A homepage needs to be named index.htm or default.htm in the main directory, not in a folder, for your "homepage" to show up when you go to a domain URL like - the browser automatically pulls up
It you started with a blank web, you may not have any /htm files yet and may need to create them.

You mentioned that you had a page you were working on? If it was not stored in your "web" in FP, you could import that page into this web - FILE > IMPORT and FP will bring that page into your web for you.

Let us know what other questions you come up with. Getting started can be the hardest part sometimes.
