Im setting up my OSX server and would like to know what to put in the DNS server box - do I put in my ISP's DNS server address or address of the server, or the router, or what?!?!?!
So you are setting up a server? What kind of box are you serving from? Is this an Xserve? Typically whne setting up a servering machine, the dns infomation comesf rom your ISP. Do they know you are serving?
Maybe you could post some more info for me and I'd be delighted to assist.
Macgeneral is correct, you put in the DNS server IP addresses from your Ineternet provider, or your own dns servers if you are managing them yourself. If you are inexperienced with DNS do not attempt to set up and run DNS services on your machine. Configuring zone files is not for the timid! Unless you are experienced, or plan on hosting alot of domains, you are much better off letting your ISP handle it.
Best of luck,
PT
