Newbie needing assistance with layers/alignment

Hi there I'm new to Dreamweaver & was having some problems with the alignment when using a layer. I have everything centered but once I add a layer it looks fine until I preview it. It looks centered when I have the favorites tab open but once I close it goes all wonky. Hopefully someone can help me out with this?

eductated guess says you are useing absolute positioning though.

Hey Chris...

Thanks for the replies. I have the links as the layer on top of the image. Is there a way to set a layer for proper positioning? How can I make roll over links into an image? Am I doing this the hard way or should I be using layers more often for the text on my pages & for the roll over links? I insert a layer but I don't see how to position it except for drag & drop how should I do this?

Definitely the hard way,

I'd get rid of the image and recode the site using HTML & CSS

Couple of questions for you....

So I made the images in fireworks then just added them into DW. Is there a way to convert & insert an image into DW then how would I add in the text portion? That's the site look I want but just wondering how to change it so I can use the images/look I already have.

-I would like everything centered on the page
-All pages the same except text & the pictures will change
-Be able to edit the text easily
-Use rollover text for the menus

Is there a way to set your page up so it resizes to whichever settings people have for there web browseres? Keeping everything inline and centered or too the left?
