Hello all,
I have been asked to look at the Norstar system at my church and have never worked on a key system before. I have worked on Meridian Option 61s, Aspect Call centers and Cisco Call Mgrs, so I have a decent clue in general, but am totally lost on this Norstar.

The issue is that there are 3 incoming 1 FB lines and there are intermittent issues on all three. Two will ring forever without picking up and one is ok (for now). The ones that are ringing forever, should be picked up by the auto-attendant function. One of those was having an issue that seemed to be crosstalk - the line would ring, AA would pick up and start through the greeting, then you could hear ringback tone on top of the AA. Once the call would be delivered to extension, the phone would only hear the ringback tone.

SOOOO...

I don't even have any idea what model this is. I know it is a Norstar and has a Star Talk Flash connected to it.

Does anyone have any tips as where I can start, or maybe at least how to identify the model, or better yet connect a laptop and do any administration? ANY help would be much appreciated.

First,
Look for either a cartridge or PCMCIA style card and the lablel on that should give us some info to go on.
Do the 1B lines plug directly into the cabinet?

If we can identify the unit and the software level you should be able to get some help.

In the meantime with a set onhook, press FEATURE 983 and report what the display says. If it says inactive feature you have a VM issue.
