Does anyone have a more detailed guide for domino installation? I have domino 8 and have gone so far as to get it installed and get to the web management interface but after that im lost. I also wanted to know if it is necessary to install the domino management software and does this software come with lotus notes or is it on the domino disk? I really like the web interface and just need help. I have tried the domino cookbook but it does not dig that deep into configuring users, dns, smtp relay etc. I am installing on 2003 for now but will eventually want to go linux I am totally humble and ignorant and if its any consolation I dont like Exchange and this is why I am talking my company into switching

You'll need the installation package for Client/Admin/Designer to get the admin software, and I'd strongly recommend it - there are things you can do with the admin that don't work well via the web interface.

Installing Domino on Linux can be a little tricky, but not too hard to overcome.

Have you done any design planning or just installing on the fly as proof-of-concept?

right now its just for fun I am doing it all in a test environment

I will go over this advice and see where it goes
