Newbie ? - insert contents of text box into report

I appologize is this is far too simple of a question, but I've been searching online docs, crystal's site, all four forums here and other places for what should be a very simple thing, but just can't seem to find it. I'm creating a small messaging app in VB.Net 2003. All I want to do is display some labels and the contents of a text box on a report. Is there a way to pass information directly from code to a report without going through a data set?
