Newbie How do I know if its working

I have followed the install instructions for PHP 5.1.1 running on IIS 6.0 but how do I know if I got it running correctly.

Create a file in your web server's document root that consists of

phpinfo();
?>

and point your browser to it.

This file what extention do it give it. HTML...XML...PHP?
I am assuming you use IE to view the file?

Save it as a .php file, use a browser to view

http://ipaddress/file.php

using your IP address and filename.
