newbie help

Hi,
I just took over admin duties at a company and they use goldmine 4.0 running on w2k server. I was asked to setup a new laptop (winxp) and install goldmine and have it sync with the server via dialup. Can someone point me towards a faq for this. I've installed the program fine and it seems to sync (it does give me some kind of recid error), but how do i get this particular users info to the new machine? I mean all his contacts and such...is there an import feature i'm overlooking?

I'd suggest you seek the assistance of a pro, however.. also, I know you're the new guy there and all, but you might consider pushing to upgradeto Goldmine 6.7 as literally pages and pages of bugs have been fixed since 4.0 and the sync engine has been greatly improved...

the problem with upgrading to 6.7 , which we are going to do, is that i need to have all my outside laptops in the office to upgrade them all at once. so its a timing thing and i'm trying to get my feet wet first.
