Newbie help!

I am new to Flash so apologies if the answer to my problem is pretty simple!

I have four different images and i want each one to appear/disappear at various intervals over the first 30 seconds of the timeline. This process will be repeated throughout the game and so it would be easier to make the images appear and disappear in actionscript.
