Hi.

I àm a newbie to servers and I have a folder permission question;

Have setup a directory structure like this:
Clients/
Clients/client1
Clients/client2
Clients/client3
..and so on
Then
Clients/client1/folder1/test
Clients/client1/folder2/mydocuments
Clients/client1/folder3/test123
and so on...

How Can I set the permissions to this user so that he only can access directly by ftp the Cients/client1/folder2/mydocuments folder - and not beeing able to navigate backwards and see folder 1 and 2.

Please help.

Bjørn.

..Sorry, a write error there.
The question should be:
How Can I set the permissions to this user so that he only can access directly by ftp the Cients/client1/folder2/mydocuments folder - and not beeing able to navigate backwards and see/edit folder 1 - 2 and 3.

give him change on the folder he needs to read and change and dont give him rights on the other folders.
take a look at the other folders not having "everybody" "authenticated users" or groups like that where the user is a member of in the ntfs rights.
