newbie fdf question

Hi,

Could someone please tell me if this is possible. What I want is a simple HTML form on my website that the user can fill out with their details. When they submit this, I want to display to the user a pre-defined PDF file (like an order form) with the users details already populated (so they can print it out). Is this what FDF does? or do I need to build an FDF form (whatever that is) to obtain the users details in place of an HTML form.

Hope this makes sense.
