Newbie ePO question

hello, i want to verify that the ePO service is running on the server, many of the agents cant connect to the server. should there be a system tray icon on teh server to show the service is running, or an *.exe i can see in the processes. clearly I am not the network admin, he left awhile ago - so would appreciate any help.

I guess i would like to know how:
1.how to verify that ePO server service is running.
2. and how to turn it on, assuming it isnt.
