This is a very general question...I'm simply looking for some direction if nothing else.

I would like to implement a form and database on my site that allows a user to select specific criteria via a form and then pull the relevant data they are looking for from a DB. Some examples are the Search forms used on "match.com" , "rent.com" , "autotrader.com" -- you get the picture. Very common of today's websites.

I simply would like to know if there's any code available that could get me started, or any good Tutorials, or a rough cost estimate if it were developed for me.

I'm new to ASP so any assistance would be great !
Sorry if this isn't the best forum for this question...but seems like ASP is the way to go for majority of data driven sites.
Thanks.

i would suggest purchasing

ASP for dummies,

i did, and it is great, it has all the information on asp that is needed to create simple scripting and some information for more serious scripting, you can get it at

You can also purchase "SAMS - Learn Active Server Pages in 24 Hours" (or 21 days, which ever you prefer) and it'll give you a good 80% of what ASP can do and how to do it. I read it after working with ASP for year and I still learned some things from the book...so it's a good one. :)
