I'm trying to do a remote connection to a site which uses MySQL altogether with PHP (as ValueAdds). I've installed MyODBC in order to do an access from VB, upgrading and downgrading directly the information.
But I don't actually know which is its servername/host in terms of the MyODBC. Is it is it xxx.com/local/mysql (I'm this point unable to get further information from the webdesigners) ? What must I put in order to connect to it or at least in order to pass the test data source that is in the ODBC DSN setup option ?

BTW I'm working with W2K and I don't have MySQL installed locally.

Thank you.

The 4 main things you need are

1) computer name or ip address that the MySQL server is sitting on.
2) the username that will let you in
3) the password associated with the username
4) the port number (the default is 3306 but it may have been changed)

Hope this helps you a small bit
