I am trying to learn Photoshop 6 with the help of SPYDERIX's FAQ links. I am trying to create the flames, but there is no bucket button to fill, no smudge tool, and no burn tool. Am I doing something wrong, or do I not know where they are? Thanks,

Matt Wray

Sounds like your Tools pallette is off. goto window-tools

Some of the tools are "hidden" in the tools palette, if there is a little arrow next to the tool then if you hold down the mouse button on that tool a fly out with more tools are available.

Hi,

Once you become familiar with the hotkeys for the different tools, you can access all the hidden ones by holding down SHIFT and then the hotkey.

EX. - If the gradient tool is showing and you want the paintbucket simply hold shift and press G to get the paintbucket. The works for all the hidden tools on the tools palette.

Hope this helps!

take spyderix's suggestion and do your best to learn and use the keyboard shortcuts, then aventually you can just shut the tools palette off and then you have more real estate on you desktop, which is a plus.

Check your manual and paperwork that came with Photoshop - - a fold-out reference card should be buried with it. You can also hover your cursor over a tool in the toolbox to view the hotkey tip.
