Hello,
Pls excuse my lack of knowledge in call routing and telephone systems. This email marks the beginning of the research phase of my idea and I'm wondering about external call routing in particular.
(This is where I start to look flaky.)
Is there a device to take an incoming call from an external source, say a public telephone, and connect the call to another EXTERNAL telephone line?
I'd like to set up a system such that my employees would be able to dial into a work number and be automatically connected to a needed vendor in the area of their call.
This would greatly reduce the time spent by my staff in making arrangements with the office (from the field) to acquire needed resources from vendors closest to them from around the city.
I'm hoping that the call router could be somehow connected to a computer (desktop/server) to automatically determine where the incoming calls should be connected to, and to then connect the field tech directly to a vendor in their area.
Please tell me whether or not I'm off in the clouds. If such a system is possible (and I can't see why it wouldn't be) could you please point me to more information, products, or keywords that I will be interested in learning more about.
Anything you can point me to is appreciated.
