I've setup a message board (Discus) on an Apache Server running Windows XP, when I click on log in when i enter a search query and click search it just refreshes the pages. I'm being told I'm having a problem with the Apache POST method. I've been googling this all day and I can't find anything, I've found post about many people having the same problem but no solutions....any help will be greatly appreciated.

can you post the section of your error log for when you access discus? Since discus isn't complaining about anything that is the only place I can think of to start looking.

Hi mate,

What language is this script in? What directory do you have it in?

This really sounds like a php problem because you have register_globals off, if it is using php then try turning that on.

Hope this helps Wullie

Hi mate,

Try setting the script up to run under the cgi-bin, that "should" stop any problems with the post method.

Hope this helps Wullie

Thanks Wullie! it worked... so I cannot change the script directory from cgi-bin.? or did I did it wrong.? ...once again thanks.....

Just adding [tt]ScriptAlias /forum /path/to/forum[/tt] to your httpd.conf should do it. //Daniel

Sorry fernan82, I clicked on your link and created a test post before reading the one where you had it fixed.

No prob. RhythmAce.....danielzohac I had done that and it wasn't working, i could get to the message board but not log on... the only other thing i changed was the port #, i was using port 9090 and i changed it to 81...anyways i'm just glad it's all good now.... many thanks for the help.
