Hello,

First I must say, that I'm new to tomcat. I'm running tomcat on SuSe 8.1 linux. The configurationfiles are on configured on default.
If I want to access via lan (localhost:8080 or <local ip-address>:8080 I have no problem and can access he whole area via a browser.
If I try to access via internet (I tried the connectip-adress of the computer on port 8080 or a dyndns.org address) I get the message "Server not found".
I get this message even if I forward the port 8080 direct to the computer where tomcat is running.
Must I actvate a special service or must I configure the tomcat to listen on a specific address? If so, which service must be activated or how do I configure tomcat to listen on a specific address?
I'm very grateful for every suggestion.

It's the firewall, either hardware or the firewall setting in Linux.

It is the firewall that block access to port 8080. you have to set port forwarding in your firewall. All in coming to port 8080 forward to the IP of your web server. Or put your web server in DMZ if you firewall supports that.

I'd tried both DMZ and port forward 8080 without any effects.

I guess the firewall on Linux is turned on. By default, Linux block access outside LAN.
