newbee - basic steps do i need to create and use a module

need to get 3 years rust off. i was not a newbee to vba in access but i shocked to get highered to actually do vba in access 2000 agian. i am trying to relearn some things and 1 of them is, the basic steps to succesfully use a module and and call it from another code window. i suppose i will put a basic function in it to test it out. is someone willing to help, i start monday(july6 2009).
I've googled and seached tek-tips before asking something so basic,if u are willing to help great! if not just skip this thread.
 
create and name your module.

Put name of module in one of the events of one of the controls on the form.

simples :)

Declare your functions and subroutines as Public (as opposed to Private)
 

This apparently must be Ian's tenth reply, because in Access you do not call modules, as he has indicated! Instead, you call a function within a module.

As Joe has indicated, you must declare the functions within the module as Public.

Also note that you can never give the same name to a module and a function withing that Module. Thisa confuses the Access gnomes and will pop an error.
