What Version do you have.

Did you try the right click anywhere on your pallet?

i have version 5.5 & thanks, i have found the right click to change the size of the eraser, now am using the rubber stamp, but somehow i have changed the shape from a circle to a dotted line cross, & cant get the circle back, i have tried the right click, but dont understand all the things available, also i started out with just the plain circle & i could alt/click & then just start to fill in with the selected color/area. but now when i do that it has a solid cross that is off from the circle & it picks up what ever is in that cross area, i dont want that, i just wanted the original spot that i alt/clicked on. i am trying to teach myself this program but it is rather difficult. can you also suggest any book to get that would be easy for a very beginner ?? thanks !

Classroom in a Book puts out a good series. But I'd go to a bookstore and browse through their shelves... That way you can flip through and see if it's done in a way that you can work with easily. There are many to choose from; as well as some endorsed by Adobe which you can find at their website adobe.com.

Alt click to pick a spot you wish to copy.

While holding down the alt key position the cursor to where you want to stamp.

Release the alt key and start clicking to apply the stamp.

As you click and reposition the cursor watch the cross area to see where the stamp is coping from.

You may want to do step one again and again as needed

Hi,

If at any time your tool goes to a cross hairs it's because you've pushed caps lock. Simply push caps lock again to get the tool.

As for the eraser/paintbrush/pencil/clonestamp/patch tool/etc etc you can adjust the size by using the [ and ] keys on your keyboard. If you want to change the hardness of any of these tools then push Shift+[ and Shift+] to increase or decrease the hardness level.

Hope this helps!

thanks so much for the additional info on the erase tool, but what do you mean to adjust the size by useing the [and] keys, dont know what key this is ??? maybe the + sign ??
thanks,
June

junedonofrio,

I mean the "[" key and the "]" key. Look at your keyboard they are to the right of the "P" key below the + and backspace keys.

Hope this helps!
