Newbe Needs Help

Hi guys,

I'm just starting with Flash (5) and going through the tutorials. When working with a bitmap, after breaking it apart, the tutorial says "Select the lasso tool and click the magic wand modifier". When I select the lasso tool the "options" display does not change to the wand modifier icons as in the example. .... A little help here?

click the lasso tool and then look at the very bottom of that toolbar!

ps. flash is VERY frustrating at first but that eases quickly!

That's what I'm talking about ... the bottom of the toolbar "options" doesn't change. It stays the same whether I click the lasso tool or the arrow tool.

So when you click on the Arrow tool you have a magnet and 4 other buttons (rotate, scale etc.) yeah?

And when you click the Lasso tool these buttons in the options are still there (rotate, scale, magnet etc.)???

What happens if you click on another button in the tool bar, say the paint bucket for instance? Do you get the properties for that or does it stay on the properties for the arrow tool? funkymonk B-)

Yeah. The tool optiions wouldn't change no matter what tool I picked. I restarted Flash 3 or 4 times ...No change. Then after getting frustrated and rebooting the server (something I rarely do) it started to work just fine.

Maybe I haven't been making enough burnt sacrifices to the server Gods lately?
