I want to fill an area, but I made it a compound layer, so I can't do it directly, if I make a copy the vector of the area and fill it and match it up, it doesn't match up perfectly and white lines can be seen between the area and the vectors, any other ways? can I make a vector grow like in photoshop for selections?

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Are you trying to fill a layer with a color? Illustrator and Photoshop use layers in different ways due to the nature of the programs. Just draw a shape and set the fill and stroke colors.

Maybe you can clarify what you mean by the terms "area", "compound layer" and "vector", and what exactly you are trying to "match up". As for making a vector grow, are you trying to scale a shape you've drawn, or are you trying to approximate the "Expand Selection" option from Photoshop?
