hi again, today my boss proposed something bizzare;interconnecting a mitel phone with the meridian (without a mitel switch!).has anyone ever heard of this? seems to me cant be done especially when the symposium gets wind of it.what do you think.also dont believe there can be billing.he wants this as he doesnt want the high cost of the ip phones from nortel.he also doesnt want a switch on the far end as there are only 30 users (international call center locally). i dont think it can work.what about purchasing an ip card, installing ip phones locally and soft phones remotely. other than the qsig enabling, patches and ip card is there anything else needed for the softphones?please offer some suggestions as i must stop him purchasing the mitel immediately but need a cost effective solution. also does anyone know how much the licenses are for ip phones and how much the software is for softphones? can a softphone connect through the cisco, across the internet and come out to the meridian.any help is greatly appreciated.please help.thank you in advance
