Hi guys,

Got a weird one for you.

I have setup a couple of new users on a partner company's email system and all is fine, mailbox created and can log in/out.

However when I send an email from that account to myself (a seperate and external Exchnage) I receive it no problem. However when I reply to that same email I get an NDR, which I copy in below.

The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.
<mailx.beechnursing.com #5.1.1 smtp;550 5.1.1 <kelvin.bullock@firstcallcareservices.com>... User unknown>

Any ideas?

Thanks

George

Maybe they are doing receipient filtering at a smarthost (between their Exchnage org and the Internet), that reads its recipient list off the AD at periodic intervals? You'd have to wait for the recipient list to be updated before it knew about the new mailbox, only then would it let the email in.

Is there a spam filter involved on the partner company's site? Do you perhaps have to add the email address to it as a valid recipient?

Cheers.

Solved.

Yes there is some kind of mail server in between being managed by another company, we have bought the company so will look to move the MX Record away from them.

Thanks for the help guys.
